Total War: Warhammer 3 – Tides of Torment is targeting a release at the end of October

And it sure sounds like it’s Dechala’s fault.

Creative Assembly has set a new launch window for the delayed Tides of Torment DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3. The expansion is now targeting a release towards the end of October 2025.

In a new developer video, CA all but confirmed that Dechala, the upcoming Legendary Lord for the Daemons of Slaanesh, is at fault for the delay, as she had to be completely remade from the ground up at least once during development.

CA also confirmed that all Legendary Lords in the DLC will come with some narrative content, including quest battles, after fans bemoaned the lack of such content in Omens of Destruction.

Naturally, the developers dropped some new breadcrumbs in regards to Tides of Torment’s new content and reworks as well. The High Elves will get a special Confederation mechanic for the factions on Ulthuan and their Legendary Lords will receive some love as well — among them Teclis, who’ll finally ascend to his rightful position of being the strongest mage in the game.

Sea-Lord Aislinn, the upcoming Legendary Lord of the High Elves, will be able to attack ports from water without having to land — a feature, which fans are hoping will be extended to the Vampire Coast as well. He’ll be a dual-sword character and be an aggressive defender of Ulthuan, roaming the seas to destroy threats before they can even make landfall.

He’ll bring several fresh units to the High Elves roster, such as the Skycutter, a flying chariot drawn by eagles that’ll be available as an archer and artillery variant, Oceanids, which will be monstrous infantry, and the Mist Mage, a new hero type. These bring an entirely new Lore of Magic to the table, the Lore of Mist. It’ll mostly contain support spells to buff ranged units and grant stealth as well as summon Water Elementals.

The Devotees of Slaanesh have been unveiled as a new unit for the Daemons of Slaanesh. These are Dark Elves worshipping the Prince of Pleasure and will be available as dual-sword and crossbow variants — giving Slaanesh their first ranged option.

Norsca fans can look forward to a revamped Monster Hunt feature that’ll be tied to regions far more and include a lot of the new monsters added to the game since its initial release. Gained trophies will also provide some active abilities for battles, which is neat.
