5 Best Overwatch Halloween Terror Skins

The five best Overwatch Halloween Terror skins have been a hot topic has this year's spooky-themed event looms. There will be dozens of skins to collect when the event rolls around early next month. With so many choices, it's only natural to try and figure out which skins rank supreme and should take priority in the collection this year.

Here's our pick for the top five best Overwatch Halloween Terror skins.

5 Best Overwatch Halloween Terror Skins

1. "Banshee" Moira

Not only is this skin incredibly cool looking, it also hearkens back to ancient Irish folklore. Banshees are female Irish spirits whose "keening"—or wailing—was meant to foretell the death of a family member. Obviously, this skin fits Moira perfectly as she is from Ireland, itself, and her already dark backstory gives it an extra edge.

2. "Jack-O-Lantern" Wrecking Ball

A little kitschy, but cute, "Jack-O-Lantern" Wrecking Ball ranks second on this due to how much of a no-brainer this concept was. A hamster, who eats pumpkin seeds, directing a giant electronic sphere that could easily be recolored to look like a jack-o-lantern. It's a fantastic, simple idea with great execution—despite the potential Cinderella vibes.

3. "Cultist" Zenyatta

Just look at how cool this skin is. Every time you look back at it you find a new feature they put in to bring this concept to life. It's incredibly complex in the best way from the floating circle of eyes and anchor-chain belt to the Cthulu-faced mask Zenyatta wears. It even matches his shoes, driving the point home that much more. The color coordination is beautiful here, as well, invoking a dark Lovecraftian vibe from the once sweet omnic monk.

4. "Witch" Mercy

You all knew this skin would make this list. "Witch" Mercy has been a fan favorite since it came out with multiple cosplays and plenty of fan art. The detail here is impeccable from the points on her shoes to the cover of her grimoire hanging on her hip. A dark twist on what most players would consider a wholly good character can definitely be interesting to experiment with. While most real-life witches were healers in their own right, the cryptic legend of witchcraft makes this skin a double-sided and equally spooky choice.

5. "Slasher" Soldier 76

Who doesn't love a cult-classic pop culture reference? Jason Voorhees is as tied to Halloween as bats and pumpkins. Having Soldier put on his famous slasher mask and wield the chainsaw add-on to his existing gun represents the genre bloody brilliantly. Hopefully this past Friday the 13 didn't bring out any such tendencies in the normally good-natured hero.
