With the 2021 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational just completed, a lot of players from all of the teams came to show off who's the best in the world right now. Though the dominance of the Asian teams has been solidified yet again, these are the five best players from MSI 2021.

1. İrfan "Armut" Berk Tükek - MAD Lions

Armut of MAD Lions is undoubtedly the West's best top lane that had a lot to prove at this tournament. Though MAD Lions came very close to defeating DAMWON KIA in the semifinals, Armut showed that he has the ability to take over games so long as he has any advantage in the top lane. He is still very young, and the move from his native Turkish team, SuperMassive eSports, to the LEC was the best choice for his legacy as a player. He'll continue to dominate as the best top lane in the West for seasons to come so long as the team is focused around him.

2. Shi "Ming" Sen-ming - Royal Never Give Up

Although it was looking to be a question of who the better solo laners were in the finals, the bot lane brawls between RNG and DK were the real stars in this intense series. Paired up with Wei "GALA" Chen, Ming's aggression and focus on the right champions were vital towards the team closing out the match against a formidable bot lane. His contribution toward the fight should not go understated as his patience and micromanagement in the game seemed gave GALA the room in order to do his job and carry the team.

3. Jang "Ghost" Yong-jun - DAMWON KIA

Ghost showed up when it was needed by providing his team the role of a carry that the team could rely on when its solo laners could not. The finals between DK and RNG turned to be a bloodbath of who will out-scale and out-perform the other bot lane for the entire series. Ghost secured a pentakill in game four, but his effort was all for nothing as they lost in the finals. The rest of MSI saw Ghost breaking out of his former self as a long-time veteran in the Korean circuit, despite being only 22 years old. So long as he continues to shine in his prime right now, he will be a force to be feared and one of the best AD carries in the world.

4. Heo "ShowMaker" Su - DAMWON KIA

When all of the other lanes fell, ShowMaker was there to pick up the scraps and turned lemons to lemonade. He provided as a solid foundation for an already fundamentally adept team. The impact ShowMaker made was that he remained solid throughout the tournament against teams that were focusing on shutting down DK's top laner Kim "Khan" Dong-ha and jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu. By the time teams attempted to capitalize on the minor wins on them, ShowMaker was there to bring the team to victories on his back. Once RNG finally cut off the head of the snake, DK looked clueless and needed its rock for its crumbling foundation, and ShowMaker couldn't stop the team from falling. ShowMaker will be a powerful mid laner for more seasons to come so long as his team can improve without him. Hopefully, there's more of "ShowMaker playmaker" that we haven't seen yet.

5. Wei "GALA" Chen - Royal Never Give Up

GALA had the biggest shoes to fill after the retirement of Jian "Uzi" Zi-hao, a loved member of RNG by its fans. With all odds against him and a lot to prove to the Chinese region that he is capable of being a top AD carry, he is the primary reason why RNG won against the South Korean powerhouse of DK. His aggression and jaw-dropping plays make him a human highlight reel in the game, and coming from the notoriously scrappy region of China, it's hard to say that it will stop. Winning finals MVP at MSI was a no-brainer and the young Chinese player should continue to show results, especially for the later World Championship past the horizon. RNG fans rejoice, for GALA is the star of the team's new generation.

This list could have very easily been only the best players from both Royal Never Give Up and DAMWON KIA, however, performances from all of the teams were taken into consideration for this list. Granted, it does feature a majority of players from the teams, but Armut's performance in MSI was a sight to behold with solid play and the MAD Lions team on his back.
