5 Changes We Don't Want in League of Legends Patch 9.12

League of Legends Patch 9.12 expects to be as fresh as all patches, adding new content and shaking the playing experience. Generally, Riot Games does a solid job with its updates to League of Legends, but now and then things slip through the cracks, or mistakes are made, and we, the community, have to endure it. Here are five possible changes we hope don't take shape in League of Legends Patch 9.12.
5. Reverting Ability Changes
The change to Zac's ultimate in Patch 9.11 has the community up in arms. He was given a new ultimate in Patch 9.10, only to have it taken away with the next patch. Hopefully we won't run into these kinds of reverts going forward, but it is a possibility.
4. Overnerfing
We've all seen it before. Last month's Flavor of the Month dropping into obscurity because of a single patch, or even just a single change. Riot's nerfs sometime feel heavy-handed. Right now Tahm Kench and Katarina are positioned to receive nerfs, and Sylas' upcoming changes will likely take him down a notch.
3. Overbuffing
Overbuffing is somewhat rare because it usually takes place across multiple patches, but it can be just as bad. This week Riot issued criteria for deciding when to buff and nerf champions, and the developers seem to rely more on pick and ban rates than actual effectiveness, which might explain why repeated patches with buffs add up to overpowered champions.
2. New Bugs
You'll never see them listed in patch notes, but any big changes — like champion and ability reworks — always seem to come with a slew of bugs, both big and small. And this patch looks like it will have a lot of big changes. At the very least, expect some hotfixes in the days after the patch drops.
1. Old Bugs
We're looking at you for this one, Mordekaiser. Mord has a very hard-earned reputation in the community as having between 200 and 300 documented bugs at any given time. With any luck, his rework will wipe the slate clean, but with many of his existing abilities being rolled together, even fixed bugs could rear their ugly heads with these changes.
By and large, Patch 9.12 is looking like it ought to be a good one, so don't let any of this weigh you down.
