Animal Crossing: New Horizons flower hybrids are just one mini-aspect of the game that all players can enjoy.

One of the best parts of Animal Crossing was being able to curate your own special garden on the side. Players have the opportunity to discover more hybrids with ease now that Nintendo has removed the feature of flowers disappearing when trampled.

When placed together in a certain grid or order, flower species can breed to create new hybrid colors beyond what the Nooklings sell in their shop. Players can create a rainbow of flora if they choose to spend their time cross-pollinating.

Note that new species of flower cannot be created—only colors.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Flower Hybrids

To create a hybrid flower, the player needs to collect two flowers within the same species. These can be different colors or the same as both pairings have a chance to result in a hybrid. The game has The game has roses, lilies, cosmos, pansies, hyacinths, tulips, mums and windflowers. Each of these can be bred to create new colors.

Flowers should be placed one grid space apart for the best results—including diagonally. Some players have created an "x" or box-like design that breeds several flowers for hybrids at once. The most important part of this is that there's an area around the two parent flowers for the child to spawn.

Beyond this, it's just a matter of watering the sprouts and looking at the color wheel.
