Apex Legends gun tier lists are necessary because there are so many guns in Apex Legends, and some are more effective than others. Here is a tier list for some of the best weapons found in the battle royale game as of February.

Apex Legends Gun Tier List for February 2020

S-Tier

  • R-99
  • Hemlok Burst AR
  • Longbow DMR
  • Peacekeeper

These guns are all game-changers as the player wielding one can dominate an entire match. With its precision and damage combination, the Hemlok makes for a solid and trustworthy option, but the R-99 tears apart enemies anytime it's used, making it the top pick for weapons.

What truly separates these guns from others comes in their ability to win a shootout. Whether through the Peacekeeper having more rounds than most shotguns, or the R-99 and Hemlock packing impressive fire rates and damage, these guns will take down an enemy before they can drop you, which is the most important aspect of the game.

A-Tier

  • Mastiff
  • Kraber .50-CAL Sniper
  • Prowler Burst PDW
  • VK-47 Flatline

The guns in this tier are all neck and neck with those in the above tier, especially the Mastiff, which is borderline S-Tier. The Shotgun is a legendary weapon that deals a ridiculous amount of damage in one shot, especially if it's a headshot. The Kraber makes for an excellent weapon as well if you like racking up huge amounts of damage in bursts.

These guns do not fully make the cut for S-Tier because of minor drawbacks such as a small clip size, the need to hit headshots to deal enough damage and overall not being as effective in random situations as those in the S-Tier are. You can rely on your Flatline to help if you're cornered, but you'd feel better holding an R-99.

B-Tier

  • EVA-8 Auto
  • Havoc
  • Devotion
  • Triple Take

This tier features the Devotion, which mows down lines of enemies if used correctly, and the Havoc, which can deal insane damage with the proper attachments. But the EVA-8 Auto leads the tier as it can fire off multiple shells before needing to reload, making it a solid choice in close combat.

But with the Devotion's fire rate starting off slow enough that you can be taken down before dealing much damage and the other three guns needing attachments to become effective enough to be considered in the same ballpark as the ones above, these guns falls into the B-Tier.

C-Tier

  • R-301 Carbine
  • L-STAR
  • Charge Rifle
  • RE-45

The final tier of guns features four commonly used weapons in any match, but they aren't as effective as any other guns listed so far. The L-STAR can take down enemies quick and efficiently, while the R-301 leads the list with its ability to pick off enemies in a close vicinity at a fast rate, while also featuring a high round magazine to get the job done.

The downfalls of these guns are what puts them in the C-Tier. The Charge Rifle should be used exclusively at a far distance, and once an enemy gets close, it is entirely ineffective since it must be charged before firing off a shot. This makes whoever is wielding it a sitting duck. The L-STAR will also have you looking like a sitting duck when it overheats as you can't fight back until it cools down. Lastly, the Carbine and RE-45 find their downfalls in their low damage and overall lack of power.

Any other gun featured in the game should be looked over in most cases.
