Apex Legends Season 9 Arena Mode Legends Tier List
By Nathan Fusco
Apex Legends' Arena mode was added in Season 9 and it's easily the best addition to Apex Legends since the game's inception. Arena mode is a brand new game mode that pits two teams against each other in a deathmatch type game.
The basics are simple: two squads of three players each will go head-to-head in multiple rounds of combat. The first team to win three rounds by at least two points wins the match.
Each round starts out giving players an opportunity to change their gear using "materials" either earned via victory or scavenged on the battlefield. And I mean they can buy everything, weapon,s attachments, grenades, and even character abilities.
Since the game has been out for a few weeks now, players have a better idea of what works in this game mode.
Apex Legends Arena Mode Legends Tier List
S Tier
- Bloodhound
- Lifeline
- Octane
- Bangalore
- Revenant
There are plenty of great Legends in the game, but their kit is built around the actual battle royale. Arena mode is completely different, it's about gunfights. Bloodhound and Bangalore work great together with their ultimate and smokes, while Octane can provide much-needed movement around the smaller maps. Lifeline can save a game with her revive and Revenant can shut down all opposing abilities.
Smart teams look to grab the resources around the map before engaging but others like to dive right at the enemy in a blaze of glory. These Legends can do both.
A Tier
- Gibraltar
- Mirage
- Rampart
While some have Rampart farther down the list, her ability to set up her machine gun and protection barrier is pretty powerful especially as the zone closes. Gibraltar is great at dueling with his shield and his ultimate can be clutch. And Mirage can cause chaos during gun fights.
B Tier
- Wraith
- Fuse
- Horizon
- Pathfinder
- Valkyrie
This is a group of Legends that does very well in a typical battle royale match, but not as much in arenas. Valkyrie has one of the best kits in the game, with mobility, a ranged slow attack, and a global mobility movement. The last one is not needed and not used well in arenas.
C Tier
- Wattson
- Loba
- Caustic
- Crypto
- Pathfinder
Everyone on this list doesn't really have a spot in arenas. You aren't locking down chokepoints and rooms as the zone is too large. And even as it shrinks, players will just wait until you have to leave your spot.
