Everybody has their personal preference when it comes to which weapon they use. But some weapons are objectively better than others in Apex Legends.

In Apex Legends there are seven classes of weapons: Assault rifles, sub-machine guns, light machine guns, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols. Today, we will rank all of the weapons in each of the classes.

Apex Legends Weapon Tier List July 2022

Assault Rifles

There are four assault rifles in the game and realistically, three of them are usable:

1. R-301 Carbine

The R-301 is one of the best guns in the game. Despite it taking light ammo, the R-301 is best used at medium to long-range.

2. VK-47 Flatline

The Flatline is a very close second to the R-301. The Flatline also excels at medium to long-range distances. A nice feature of the Flatline is the ability to switch between single fire or full auto.

3. Hemlok Burst AR

The Hemlok is not as common as the other two ARs. The Hemlok is primarily used by players that like the three-burst style, which is uncommon.

4. Havoc Rifle

The Havoc Rifle is almost never seen in the later game. There are just other weapons that are better than the Havoc.

Sub-Machine Guns

There are five SMG's in Apex and in our opinion, three of them are usable:

1. Volt SMG

The Volt is the best SMG in the game, but it's very rarely seen due to the fact that it's only found in care packages. But when players do find a Volt, they are great at close-range.

2. R-99 SMG

The niner-niner is the best SMG that you can find as floor loot in the game. With a high rate of fire, the R-99 can melt an opponent close to you.

3. C.A.R. SMG

The C.A.R. is very close behind the R-99. Similarly, it can melt an opponent who is close to you but is less effective at a distance. One cool trick of the C.A.R. is the ability to change between light and heavy ammo, depending on what you have more of. Currently, the C.A.R. is only available for crafting in the replicator.

4. Alternator SMG

After the last three SMGs, the Alternator is a ways away. The Alternator is best used in the early game as the first weapon you pick up.

5. Prowler Burst PDW

The Prowler finds itself at the bottom of this list. While a burst can be used in an assault rifle, it's just not very good as an SMG. At close range, you want a quick rate of fire, and the Prowler does not offer that.

Light Machine Guns

There are currently four LMG's in the game:

1. M600 Spitfire

The Spitfire is the best LMG on this list. With a large mag size, the Spitfire can shred opponents at a close to medium range.

2. Rampage LMG

Both numbers two and three can be swapped with each other depending on who is using them. Normally, the Rampage has a low rate of fire, but with a thermite grenade in it, the fire rate is greatly improved.

3. Devotion LMG

The Devotion can be a great weapon, depending on the situation. With a turbocharger, it has an extremely fast rate of fire, but with lots of recoil. Without a turbocharger, the Devotion takes time to reach its peak fire rate.

4. L-Star EMG

The L-Star is almost never used in the late games. It can be useful in early game when it's the only weapon you have at your disposal. If you're close to an enemy, the L-Star can melt an opponent, but that's about it.

Marksman Rifles

Next up are the Marksman Rifles. There are four of them in-game and three of them are reasonably effective. Although the Marksman as a whole are very situational.

1. Triple Take

The Triple Take is the best Marksman on the list. With a surprisingly large magazine size, the Triple Take can be used greatly at medium to long distances.

2. G7 Scout

The G7 Scout is next up on the list. Currently, the Scout is only found in care packages and isn't that commonly used. But when it is, it can be deadly for opponents.

3. 30-30 Repeater

The Repeater is basically a worse version of the Triple Take. It can be used well at medium to long-distance but is very rarely seen in-game.

4. Bocek Compound Bow

The Bocek is a weapon that is practically never picked up in-game. It's extremely difficult to hit shots with the bow and has a slow rate of fire.

Sniper Rifles

In Apex, Sniper Rifles are not that commonly seen, except for one when found in care packages.

1. Kraber .50-Cal Sniper

The Kraber is the hardest-hitting weapon in the game. A one-shot .50-Cal sniper can almost down a fully shielded player. But the Kraber is only available in care packages.

2. Sentinel
3. Longbow DMR

These two snipers on this list are very similar. So similar that they are being grouped together. Both are standard sniper rifles, that just do not fit the meta in Apex.

4. Charge Rifle

The Charge Rifle finds itself at the bottom of this list, evident by the fact that you will rarely see this used — if ever.

Shotguns

For the shotguns, there are four of them in the game and two of them are usable.

1. Peacekeeper

The Peacekeeper is the best shotgun in the game. It is also seen commonly in the late game. It hits hard at a close range, and when you aim down sights, the spread becomes decreased and the range becomes slightly increased.

2. Mastiff Shotgun

The Mastiff is a shotgun that is rarely seen in-game, due to the fact that it is only found in care packages. But when it is used it's a great gun. Instead of a typical shotgun spread, the Mastiff shoots along a horizontal spread. Meaning if you hit the spread on the body, it can almost down any player.

3. EVA-8 Auto

The EVA is really never seen in late game. The only positive thing about the EVA is its faster fire right, but the low damage output really hinders the gun.

4. Mozambique Shotgun

It's hard to find a gun worse than the EVA, but the Mozambique takes that title. A shotgun pistol that has no range, a small magazine and no damage output. The Mozambique may just be the worst gun in the entire game.

Pistols

Pistols are a strange category in Apex because each of the three are different. Only two of them are somewhat usable in-game.

1. RE-45 Auto

The RE-45 is a fully automatic pistol. When used properly, it can melt an opponent at close range. For anything else, it's usability falls apart.

2. Wingman

Compared to the fully auto RE, the Wingman is completely different. The Wingman has a very slow rate of fire, but with greater damage output. If you hit your shots with the Wingman, it can be great. But, you have to hit your shots. Currently, the Wingman can only be crafted in the replicator.

3. P2020

The P2020 is a standard pistol. It can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. It's never seen in late game, but can be an effective option for the early game.
