Apex Legends weapons tier list August 2020 will help you figure out what weapons to hang onto in your quest to be the last squad standing.

Changes are coming soon to Apex Legends, as Respawn Entertainment recently announced Season 6: Boosted. Along with a new crafting mechanic, Season 6 is also introducing a new energy weapon, the Volt SMG. Chances are this will be a high-tier weapon when it drops.

For now, here are our current rankings of Apex Legends' weapons:

Apex Legends Weapons Tier List August 2020

S-Tier

  • Devotion LMG (Care Package)
  • Peacekeeper Shotgun (Care Package)
  • Kraber .50-cal Sniper (Care Package)
  • M600 Spitfire LMG
  • R-99 SMG

The top three weapons here are the elite weapons that players can only find in Care Packages. Make sure someone in your squad grabs one if you come across them. The Spitfire is the best LMG in the game and with the biggest extended mag, holds 55 rounds, which makes it a great pairing with any other weapon in the game. The R-99 is the best SMG and sprays rounds quicker than any other gun. Just make sure you have an extended mag because it doesn't hold much ammo.

A-Tier

  • R-301 Carbine Assault Rifle
  • Hemlok Burst Assault Rifle
  • VK-47 Flatline Assault Rifle
  • Mastiff Shotgun
  • Prowler Burst SMG
  • Wingman Pistol

These A-Tier weapons are all reliable and can all be viable regardless of what combination of attachments you have for any of them. The only exceptions would be the last two, as you'd prefer to have the parenthetical Hop-Up Attachments to get the most out of them. The Assault Rifles are all fairly equal, it depends on what style of AR you prefer. The Hemlok is deadly but requires precision because of its burst fire, the R-301 is a great option at almost any range, and the Flatline packs a punch but has the slowest rate of fire. The Mastiff is A-Tier because, paired with a good shotgun bolt, it's a solid shotgun option during any stage of the game.

B-Tier

  • Havoc Assault Rifle
  • Longbow Sniper Rifle
  • Triple Take Sniper Rifle
  • Charge Rifle Sniper Rifle
  • Re-45 Auto Pistol

The Havoc is a decent AR that can be used in a variety of scenarios. If you happen to find one on drop hang onto it for a bit because it will shred enemies with low shields and worse weapons. Three of the four sniper rifles are here, as none are particularly meta right now. However, skilled snipers can find a way to succeed with these rifles. The RE-45 Auto Pistol is a great close-range option as it can quickly empty a whole clip into enemies.

C-Tier

  • L-Star LMG
  • Alternator SMG
  • Sentinel Sniper Rifle
  • G7 Scout Assault Rifle

These are basically the best options out of the weapons you're likely to be finding when you first drop. The Sentinel has potential because of its ability to charge up damage by loading in Shield Cells, but its bolt-action firing method holds it back. It's tough to lineup shots when you get pulled out of your scope after each one. The L-Star is a scary early-game weapon considering it can keep shooting out rounds until it overheats. The Alternator is a great way to hold attachments for the R-99 that you should be looking out for. The G7 Scout is a semi-auto marksman rifle, and truly requires a marksman to get the most out of it. With an extended mag it can hold 20 rounds in one clip.

D-Tier

  • Mozambique Shotgun
  • P2020 Pistol
  • EVA-8 Shotgun

These weapons are the ones you'll almost always overlook unless you have no other option. The Eva-8 with the Double Tap Trigger is the only one with potential. However, unless you find them both together, there's really no reason to hang onto an EVA-8 once you find something better.
