Black Ops Cold War Weapon Tier List December 2020

S Tier - AK-47, MP5, Pellington 703, Gallo SA12

These are the guns you’re going to want to learn if you’re looking to keep your K/D up and play the game competitively. Developers have teased at adding in some sort of ranked mode, but until that time comes it’s good to get practice in. Be sure to keep an eye out for balance patches that might shake up this list in the future.

A Tier - Krig 6, AK-74u, M16, Stoner 63, LW3 Tundra, Hauer 77, AUG, M1911

The most notable inclusion on this tier is the M16. Many people underestimate this gun, but with the right attachments and some decent aim, it can kill in 1 burst. In many situations that ends up being faster than a fully automatic weapon. The Hauer 77 is also here, for its high kill potential, but overall it is slightly worse than the SA12.

B Tier - KSP-45, XM4, M82, M60, Bullfrog, RPG-7

Here we see the first appearance of a missile weapon, the RPG-7 is pure cheese. This weapon should only be used if you’re out to make a montage or playing in a game mode with vehicles. In combined armed, where vehicles feature prominently, the RPG will be invaluable to your team. In most other game modes, it’ll be useless.

C Tier - QBZ-83, RPD, DMR 14, Diamatti, CIGMA-2

The first sidearm makes an appearance in the C tier, the Diamatti, and it is kind of sad that the Diamatti is on the same as the QBZ-83. Whether that speaks poorly of the QBZ or well of the Diamatti is up to you. Choosing either of these weapons, or any of them on the tier list will put you at a significant disadvantage when coming up against players using better weapons.

D Tier - Magnum, Knife

Let’s talk about the knife for a moment. There have been games we’ve seen that have a person running around using the knife, and they dominate. They completely take over the game. This could be you, and if that is you then move the Knife up to A tier. Sadly, that is not most people.

F Tier - M79, Milano 821

These guns are unusable. By putting either of these weapons into a loadout you are asking for trouble. And by trouble we mean your win/loss ratio falling, your K/D falling, and your optimism failing. We’d highly recommend against using either of these.
