Our Call of Duty: Vanguard weapon tier list for launch week is here to break down which guns are the best to use as players begin to dive into the new title's multiplayer for the first time.

It's week one with Vanguard multiplayer officially here, and needless to say, players are already trying to figure out what the best guns to use are. So far, there are 38 different weapons to use, including seven assault rifles, six SMGs, four shotguns, four LMGs, three marksman rifles, three sniper rifles, five pistols, four launchers, and two melee tools. Here are the best weapons to use in Call of Duty: Vanguard early on at launch.

Whether it be due to their availability in the previous alpha and beta and whatnot, these five guns have rapidly separated themselves as such extremely popular options early on to the point where they are clearly the go-to S-Tier options thus far.

A Tier

  • BAR
  • M1928
  • Owen Gun
  • PPSh-41
  • MG42
  • Itra Burst
  • DP27

In A Tier are a healthy variety of options that should be good and generally very balanced to use in Vanguard. From the BAR to the M1928 and Sten these are all surefire hits to level up early on. Perhaps the only real question mark here could be the Itra Burst, which appears to be this year's go-to gun for those who like using three-round burst weapons in COD multiplayer.

B Tier

  • Sten
  • AS44
  • Type 11
  • 3-Line Rifle
  • Gracey Auto
  • M1 Garand
  • Klauser

These weapons in B Tier will likely be viable, but could also perhaps need a slight buff in order for more players to seriously consider mastering them. The Gracey Auto will likely be the best shotgun of the bunch, which unfortunately doesn't amount to much for that weapon type in this game it seems. Meanwhile, the Type 11 and 3-Line Rifle especially sound pretty promising on paper, but we'll have to wait and see how they pan out.

C Tier

  • Automaton
  • NZ-41
  • G-43
  • Type 99
  • Type 100
  • Bren
  • SVT-40
  • Ratt
  • 1911

The C Tier includes guns that will likely need a buff in Vanguard. Of course, not all guns are supposed to hit that hard, but Call of Duty has always been about using weapons that consistently put up fast TTKs, and these weapons might not fit the bill as well as those above them.

D Tier

  • Einhorn Revolving
  • Combat Shotgun
  • Double Barrel
  • Top Break

At this point in the tier list, these guns from here on out will likely not have a place in the meta just based on how hard they would be to put down enemies consistently.
