Capture the Flag is Returning in MW3 Season 3
A fan-favorite mode is returning in MW3 Season 3 for the first time in years.
Many Call of Duty fans were disappointed when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 featured Control as its third competitive game mode, along with Hardpoint and Search & Destroy. Control has been a staple in recent Call of Duty titles, spanning from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to MW3, and players often wish for a more thrilling mode to play and watch. Especially with the current map rotation, Control typically just comes down to what team has defense Round 5.
Fortunately, the developers are delivering one of the most requested multiplayer modes in the game in MW3 Season 3.

Here's Which Fan-Favorite Mode is Returning in MW3 Season 3
Capture the Flag is returning in MW3 Season 3. The developers confirmed that the fan-favorite mode will be featured in the next major update in the season's short teaser trailer.
The return of CTF will be the first time a true iteration of the mode will be in Call of Duty since Call of Duty: WWII. Unlike its week-long appearance in Black Ops Cold War, Capture the Flag in MW3 will be around for at least an entire season.
Now, players will once again have to fight to capture their opponent's flag and bring it back to their base, all while defending their own flag, to score points.
MW3 Season 3 Features Four New Multiplayer Maps
MW3 Season 3 will also feature four new multiplayer maps. Sledgehammer Games confirmed that Sphere from Call of Duty: Vanguard is one of the releases, now remastered and titled, Growhouse.

Additionally, MW3 Season 3 features the following brand-new multiplayer maps:
- 6 Star
- Emergency
- Grime
Growhouse, 6 Star, and Emergency will be available at launch whereas Grime will drop mid-season.
MW3 Season 3 Release Date
MW3 Season 3 will be released on Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2024, at 12 p.m. ET. The new season will replace MW3 Season 2 and feature CTF, 4 multiplayer maps, a fresh Battle Pass, and more.
