Clever Horizon Gravity Lift Trick Lets Players Jump Over Walls

One Apex Legends player took to Reddit to explain a trick they discovered using Horizon's Gravity Lift.

Unfortunately for them, whether or not it is actually a trick is up for debate. It was brought to light through a post on the Apex University subreddit published by user dhzS_ on Saturday, Nov. 20. At the time of writing, moderators have removed the post—but the information has been preserved, including the attached video.

The clip showed the player, as Horizon, place down their Gravity Lift and make the jump up onto a much taller ledge. They went on to take out the remaining three players in the match and be crowned the champion.

As explained by dhzS_, "If you jump when you fall from your Gravity Lift and jump again when you hit the ground as Horizon, you will have enough momentum to get over a wall instantly."

However, other users have disputed the "trick" title in the comments. The top-voted comment sitting at 82 upvotes at the time the post was taken down completely explained the phenomenon shown in the video.

"The way your character moves and pulls the gun up makes me think you just did a smooth transition from a jump to vaulting over the wall," the user, No-Cap-Stats, wrote, "I really don’t think this is a jump over the wall. I’m sure this mechanic would be well known by now if it was the case. Even crazy movement players like taxi don’t get bounces this high off their drops."

They continued, "You would have to test this far away enough from a wall to not trigger a climb to prove that this isn’t a climb.

"Can you even jump while in Horizon’s gravity lift? I’m not sure why they specify jumping when you fall from the lift and again on the ground, because the lift automatically kicks you out when you leave it’s pillar, or kicks you off the top after a certain amount of time," HumblerBee wrote.

Irobrineplayz simply replied, "sus."
