Dvalin Genshin Impact: Everything You Need to Know

Dvalin is one of the boss monsters you'll come across in Genshin Impact, and arguably the most majestic of all of them. He is a towering dragon that soars above the skies of Mondstadt, and one of Venti's closest friends.

Dvalin was once one of Mondstadt's Four Winds, the Dragon of the East. Many centuries ago, it became corrupted with an Abyssal poison, and lost its sanity from the pain and torment. In the Archon Quest Prologue, the Traveler and their friends must fight back against Dvalin, who now terrorizes Mondstadt under the name Stormterror.

Dvalin Genshin Impact: Everything You Need to Know

You'll encounter Dvalin at the very beginning of your journey in Genshin Impact. It's the Traveler's task to team up with Venti, Jean, and Diluc, and cleanse the poison from Dvalin's veins.

The Dvalin boss fight will be the first boss fight of the game, and occurs at the end of Prologue: Act III: Song of the Dragon and Freedom. The quest unlocks at Adventure Rank 18, and Venti will be a free character you can use during the boss fight.

Here are several tips for clearing the Dvalin boss fight:

• Players will need to attack Dvalin's body to break his shield and make Dvalin collapse, and then attack the Tainted Blood clot on Dvalin's head.
• The best time to break Dvalin's shield is when he uses his Dragon Breath. This is when Dvalin lands on the platform and unleashes a powerful breath in the direction where the character was standing. Start on one end of the platform, then quickly dash to the other end to avoid Dvalin's breath, and attack his claw on that side.
• Once Dvalin collapses, you can either attack his Tainted Blood clot by shooting it with charged attacks from an archer, or climbing onto his body to attack it with a melee character.
• Dvalin will periodically cause energy to rain from the sky, tainting the platform the character is standing on and nearby platforms. Standing on tainted platforms will continuously deal damage to your character, so use the wind currents on either end of the platform to move to untainted platforms.

After clearing the Dvalin boss fight, it will be unlocked as a weekly Trounce domain at Adventure Rank 25. Players can challenge the fight at increasingly difficult levels to receive lots of rewards, including the Gladiator and Wanderer's Troupe artifact sets, ascension materials, and talent materials. The talent materials Dvalin can drop include:

• Dvalin's Sigh
• Dvalin's Plume
• Dvalin's Claw
