Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is set to release on Dec. 16, 2021, Steel Wool Studios announced in a trailer during Sony's Oct. 27 State of Play show Wednesday.
After initially being announced in 2019 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the FNAF series, and delayed in early 2021 presumably due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is finally set to officially release this holiday season.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach Release Date Announced, Coming Dec. 16
As shown in the new two-minute trailer, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is aiming to take the series and its passionate fandom to new heights.
With a mix of gameplay and in-game cinematics, the trailer shows off what appears to be an exciting blend of new and old. Some staple features that will get their time to shine in the new game include Chica, Freddy Fazbear and the classic security camera mechanic, while new characters and sequences revolving around exploration and action seemingly add a nice twist to the series.
The main character is shown in the trailer as well, and in-class FNAF fashion, they overstayed their welcome, to say the least. It seems Roxy, Chica, and Monty are working together with the Mega Pizza Plex security to hunt them down, while Freddy Fazbear is surprisingly helping them survive.
