Despite plenty of rumors, Epic Games is not removing Zero Build from Fortnite.

Ever since Zero Build launched in Fortnite back in 2022, the mode has become a staple in Epic Games' Battle Royale. Although Zero Build started out as a fun experiment, the mode quickly developed into a competitive mode with its own Ranked playlist and tournament schedule. It is hard to remember a time when Zero Build did not exist, and the majority of players would hate to see it disappear from Fortnite.

Fortunately, the Fortnite community does not have to worry about Epic Games discontinuing Zero Build. Here's why.

Epic Games is not removing Zero Build from Fortnite. The rumors circulating all over the internet originated as an April Fools' Day joke.

Prominent, typically reliable leakers, like FNChiefAko, joined in on the fun, reposting the rumors on X to prank the Fortnite community. Just their one post has over 350,000 views in less than 24 hours. It is easy to see why some fans thought the news was true, but Zero Build is surely not going anywhere moving forward.

In fact, Zero Build is still one of the most popular modes in Fortnite. At any given time, you can head to the Discover page in Fortnite and find the live player count for Zero Build, and it is almost always just below traditional Battle Royale.

Despite the rumors, Zero Build is here to stay in Fortnite.

Here's Why Epic Games is Bringing Back Fortnite OG

Surprisingly, no one seemed to use Fortnite OG as an April Fools' Day prank. However, Epic Games has confirmed the beloved mode's return to Fortnite in 2024.

Fortnite OG was originally supposed to be a one-time event to close out Fortnite Chapter 4, but the return of the OG map and loot pool inspired millions of players to come back to the Battle Royale, breaking record after record throughout November 2023.

Unfortunately, Epic Games has yet to tease or reveal the release date for Fortnite OG in 2024. Stay tuned for more intel as the year unfolds.
