It's one of the most popular battle royales on the market. But how many people play Warzone 2? Here's what its player count looks like for April 2023.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 recently entered Season 3. Aside from the usual buffs and nerfs that do the rounds with every major update, players were introduced to a number of gameplay additions and changes to switch things up in-match. On top of that, players have a brand new battle pass to work their way through, earning special rewards and cosmetics to keep things interesting.

But Warzone 2 has been around for a few months now. Since its launch back in November 2022, it's been met with mixed reception from fans, pros and streamers alike. One of the most notable complaints was the absence of a Resurgence map at launch, which was later corrected in Season 2 with the addition of Ashika Island.

Another missing feature is Warzone 2 Ranked, which Activision has confirmed will be arriving later this season. But for some players, it's been seen as too little too late, leading many to drop Warzone 2 in favor of other battle royales like Apex Legends.

Despite this, however, Warzone 2 still amasses a healthy player base.

How Many People Play Warzone 2? April 2023 Player Count

According to Steam Charts, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 averaged around 80,965 players in the last 30 days. It reached a peak of 156,956 on March 19. This is a far cry away from the numbers the games were pulling at launch, averaging around 223,897 players.

It's important to note that player count data is only available from those playing Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 on Steam. In reality, the player count is much higher when taking into account that a considerable amount of CoD players use consoles.

Even solely looking at Steam, MW2 and Warzone 2 are still regularly pulling in healthy numbers, despite the drop-off from launch. That said, when comparing with the likes of Apex Legends, which averaged roughly 243,750 players in the last 30 days, it looks a little weak.

Perhaps when Warzone 2 Ranked drops later this season, we'll see a slight resurgence when it comes to player numbers.
