Call of Duty's premium in-game currency is called CoD Points. Here's how to earn yourself some for free.

Like most online multiplayer games on the market, players can earn themselves a huge array of in-game cosmetics. These cosmetics don't offer any in-game advantage, unless there's a bug floating around in need of fixing, but they allow players to kit out their character with a certain aesthetic.

While some cosmetics are unlockable for free, others require purchasing using premium currency. In the case of Call of Duty, that's CoD Points. However, purchasing CoD points can be expensive, and not everyone can afford it. Fortunately, there are ways to earn CoD Points for free across Activisions active catalog of Call of Duty titles.

How to Earn Free CoD Points

The easiest way to earn yourself some free CoD Points is through completing Battle Pass Missions. The free Battle Pass usually contains a small handful of CoD Points, typically 400 or so, which players can earn through progressing through it in its entirety. While it will rarely be enough to buy some of the bigger cosmetics, but after a few seasons you'll have some to play with.

Another way is to keep your eye open for any active promotions. Previously, players were able to earn themselves CoD Points through buying special packs of Mountain Dew. Other rewards often include XP boosts, but getting CoD points with your purchases is pretty common, too.

Plenty of streamers also host special giveaways, with prizes including CoD Points. There are no shortage of Instagram, YouTube and Twitch gaming influencers and streamers partnering with game developers and hosting Giveaways. Obviously, this isn't a guaranteed method of earning CoD Points, but it never hurts to try.
