A few lucky fans can get Ascendant Midas for free in Fortnite.

Epic Games finally resurrected Midas, the legendary Chapter 2 NPC, in Fortnite Myths & Mortals. After he escaped from his cell in The Underworld, Midas now inhabits The Marigold Yacht, where he offers players a Mythic Drum Gun. Although the character arrived in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 in update 29.01, his new skin was not featured in the Item Shop. Fortunately, just one week later, Ascendant Midas is available for all fans, and some can even get him without spending any V-Bucks.

To get Ascendant Midas for free in Fortnite, you had to have participated in the Rise of Midas Cup. Those who finished at the top of their regions received the Ascendant Midas skin and Golden King Cape's Back Bling without spending any V-Bucks.

Those who failed to compete in the cup or earn enough points for the free items must purchase Ascendant Midas from the Item Shop. Here's all the Midas-related cosmetics featured in the Item Shop:

  • Ascendant Midas Skin
  • Golden King Cape's Back Bling
  • The Golden Touch Pickaxe
  • Golden Ascension Wrap

If the Chapter 2 Midas skin is any indication, Ascendant Midas will only be available in the Item Shop for a limited time before the fan-favorite character disappears for what could be years. Therefore, make sure to get the skin as quickly as possible so you do not miss out.

How to Get Golden Ascendant Midas in Fortnite

To get Golden Ascendant Midas in Fortnite, you must purchase and wear the Ascendant Midas skin as you collect eliminations in Zero Build and Battle Royale matches. The skin's golden reactivity will be unlocked, and then you can enable it to turn Ascendant Midas fully gold.

When is Ascendant Midas Coming to the Fortnite Item Shop? Answered

Ascendant Midas is coming to the Fortnite Item Shop on Tuesday, Mar. 26, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET. As soon as the Item Shop refreshes in update v29.10, Ascendant Midas and his matching cosmetics will be available for purchase.
