In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Treyarch and Activision have dropped a new SMG for use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone in Season 3: Classified Arms.

As teased by Treyarch on April 15, Black Ops Cold War and Warzone players can expect some new content from the 1980s era arriving throughout the months to come, including an "all-new ranged weapon," a new melee weapon, new Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Finishing Moves, Calling Cards, Charms, Emblems and other cosmetics. Here's a breakdown of how to unlock the UGR SMG in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Warzone and Black Ops Cold War UGR SMG Unlock Methods

Players have two options to acquire the Season 3 UGR SMG.

The first and most straightforward way is by simply purchasing the new Lazar Operator Bundle (2,400 CP), which includes the Dealmaker blueprint for the UGR, a new operator, an assault rifle blueprint, a finishing move, a watch, a charm, a calling card, an emblem, a reticle and a gesture.

The other is by completing one of the unlock criteria challenges:

  • BOCW Multiplayer/Warzone: Using an SMG, kill an enemy revealed by your Spy Plane, UAV or Field Mic in 15 different completed matches.
  • BOCW Zombies: Eliminate 1,000 enemies while using an Epic rarity or better SMG.

For those looking to complete the challenge in Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer or Warzone, although it seems pretty simple, it appears the matches must be completed, unfortunately. You can’t just grab a quick UAV kill and then leave and queue up for another match. You will not make progress toward the challenge if you leave the match early.

As usual, once you’ve cleared the required challenge, the UGR will be accessible for free across both games.
