Is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance crossplay?
Based on R. A. Salvatore's novel "The Legend of Drizzt," Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance invites players to a dangerous adventure in the Icewind Dale of Faerûn. Here's the breakdown of whether or not Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has crossplay.
Is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance Crossplay?
Despite being launched across PC, Xbox and PlayStation, it appears only two of the three platforms will support crossplay in Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance has both crossplay between PC and Xbox and cross-gen play between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Meanwhile, there is only cross-gen play between PS5 and PS4.
Leaving behind the central character sheets and math core pillars of D&D, Dark Alliance is a third-person action brawler that drops players and up to three other friends into the "unforgiving frozen hellscape" of Icewind Dale to take on iconic monsters and collect loot.
Dark Alliance lets players choose from four iconic heroes known as the Companions of the Hall—Drizzt, Catti-brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar. Each comes with over 50 unique moves, special abilities, and team attacks. At the moment, it appears there is only one voice actor for Dark Alliance.
Although Wizards of the Coast describes the combat as "pick up and play," they also said it's intended to be difficult to master, with strategies and tactics emerging depending on the situation, skills, and monsters at hand.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance released Tuesday, June 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam for a base price of $39.99.
