Is Fortnite Shutting Down in 2024? Answered
With only a couple weeks left in 2023, some fans are worried about the future of Fortnite in 2024.
Currently, Fortnite is as popular as it has ever been. Not only did Fortnite OG bring back millions of players to the Battle Royale, but now, LEGO Fortnite has captured the attention of the world, setting new player count records left and right. However, the recent retirement of Donald Mustard, former Chief Creative Officer of Epic Games, has fans speculating about the fate of Fortnite in the new year.
So, is Fortnite shutting down in 2024?
Is Fortnite Shutting Down in 2024? Answered
No, Fortnite is not shutting down in 2024. Epic Games could never sunset their Battle Royale after such a successful end to 2023. In fact, based on recent leaks and teasers, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to deliver new POIs, NPCs, and skins based on Greek Mythology.
Although not much is known yet about the next major update in Chapter 5, we do know it is certainly coming in 2024; fans do not need to worry about the possibility of Fortnite shutting down in the new year. Instead, they should be looking forward to all the changes arriving in the Battle Royale in the coming months.
When Does Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 End?
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 likely ends Friday, Mar. 8, 2024, at 2 a.m. ET. Just because Fortnite Underground is leaving, though, does not mean the three new modes featured in Chapter 5 Season 1 are disappearing as well. Epic Games already confirmed that LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are here to stay.
Epic Games announced on X, "Seeing some chatter around our newly launched games and people worried that they may not stick around. To clarify: these are brand new games entirely—not LTM’s." They concluded, "Fear not! LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are here to stay-with regular updates."
Stay tuned for more updates about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 as 2024 unfolds.
