Since the successful release of New World’s closed beta on July 20, players have wondered if this up-and-coming MMORPG will be available on consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. Many similar titles have successfully created a multi-platform environment for their games, so perhaps this option would not be out of the question in the future development of New World.
However, Amazon Games has not released any official information on the possibility of porting New World to consoles. Players can expect the full release of the game on Aug. 31 to be exclusively on PC. More information regarding their future plans for the game, including the possibility of the game being released on a console such as the Nintendo Switch can be found on their website.
Is New World Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Despite there being no current plans to release New World on the Nintendo Switch, the possibility a port over to console would not be a far-fetched notion. Unlike many of its MMORPG counterparts, New World has a unique weapon/skill system featuring a total of six available skills that would allow for an easy transition to a controller environment.
As such, the combat in this game would be engaging on all platforms – perhaps even more so on a bigger screen – so Amazon’s potential to release New World on consoles such as the Nintendo Switch could always be a possibility in the works.
