It Takes Two's Friend's Pass is a special offering those who buy the game can use to play online co-op with a friend who doesn't own the game. It can also be used to play the first chapter of the game for free. Here's how it works.

It Takes Two Friend's Pass: How to Play Co-Op Without Both Owning the Game

The Friend's Pass system is blessed simple. To use it, one player must buy the game. Then, from the main menu, they can invite a friend who doesn't own the game to play. That invite will take the other player to the store page for It Takes Two on the platform in question, where they'll be able to download the Friend's Pass. Once they do so, they'll be able to join and play with the player who owns the game.

The Friend's Pass requires that both players have PlayStation Plus subscriptions on PlayStation or Xbox Live Gold subscriptions on Xbox.

If neither player owns the game, they can still try it out together by heading to the It Takes Two store page for their platform and both downloading the Friend's Pass. Once it's downloaded, either player will be able to launch the game and invite the other to play through the game's first chapter.
