The latest Kirby game has finally made its way to Nintendo Switch. Kirby and the Forgotten Land sees our little round friend embark on a new 3D adventure after waking up in a strange, abandoned world. Kirby isn't completely alone, however, as he'll need to face off against a variety of enemies equipped with some tricky attacks. A plethora of skills and abilities are available at Kirby's disposal, and players will need to utilize all of them along their journey.

In order to make a quick getaway or perform a fluid attack, players might want to learn how to slide. Here's what you need to know.

How to Perform a Slide Attack in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

First, in order to begin your slide, you'll need to get Kirby into a defensive position. To do this, press any of the shoulder buttons (L, ZL, R, ZR) on the Joy-Con controller. In this position, Kirby will take substantially less damage from attacks. 

While in the defensive position, Kirby can perform a slide attack by pushing the 'A' button. This type of attack is fairly common in Kirby games, giving our favorite pink mascot some extra mobility when it comes to combat. Kirby can also use the slide to quickly move out of the way of an incoming attack, so be sure to put the ability to the test.
