Epic Games just announced a limited-time offer that allows fans to get the Midnight Scythe Pickaxe for free in Fortnite in just a few simple steps.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is full of must-have cosmetics in both the Battle Pass and the Item Shop. Whether you want to purchase the Odyssey Ranked Play skin or the Operation Brite Starter Pack, you will see your V-Bucks balance quickly decline. Fortunately, there are already a few free items in Fortnite Myths & Mortals, including the new Midnight Scythe Pickaxe, perfect for venturing into The Underworld.

How to Get Midnight Scythe Pickaxe for Free in Fortnite

To get the Midnight Scythe Pickaxe for free in Fortnite, you must redeem a V-Bucks gift card. All those who redeem their gift card by Apr. 14 will receive the exclusive Pickaxe at no extra cost.

Based on similar past Fortnite promotions, the Midnight Scythe Pickaxe will likely not come to the Item Shop in the future, so redeeming a Fortnite V-Bucks gift card is the only way to add the item to your Locker.

How to Redeem a V-Bucks Gift Card in Fortnite

To redeem a V-Bucks gift card in Fortnite, head to the official Fortnite website where you can get started. Then, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log into your Epic Games account.
  2. Reveal the PIN code from the back of the gift card.
  3. Input the code into the field.
  4. Choose your preferred platform.
  5. Select “Confirm.”

Those on PlayStation and Xbox will then have to complete a few additional steps to see the V-Bucks added to your account.

PlayStation

  1. Log into your PlayStation account.
  2. Select “Redeem Code” from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your new 12-digit code from the Fortnite website.

Xbox

  1. Log into your Xbox account on your console.
  2. Go to the Microsoft Store.
  3. Press the View button on your controller.
  4. Select “Redeem” from the opened sidebar.
  5. Enter the 25-character code from the Fortnite website.
