MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Brings Back Intervention Sniper

Activision / Infinity Ward

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 will bring back one of the most popular sniper rifles in the entire Call of Duty franchise: the Intervention.

The Intervention, now known in MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 as the FJX Imperium, was first introduced in the original Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. The sniper rifle became the go-to for trick-shotting and quick scope fanatics. Many consider it the golden age of sniping in Call of Duty after how popular the M40A3 was in Call of Duty 4.

Activision announced in a special teaser featuring FaZeDirty that the Intervention was returning. "Wait a second. That looks really familiar," FaZeDirty said when seeing the sniper rifle in game for the first time.

It's currently unknown how players will unlock the sniper rifle, but most can assume that it will be available as a free reward through the Season 3 Battle Pass. Players can also expect special bundles to be available in the store once the season goes live that can be purchased with COD Points.

Sniping has changed massively since the original MW2, but fans hope that this nostalgic rifle brings back old memories and feels just like it did in 2009 when it makes its return in Season 3.
