An Overwatch content creator who attended an Overwatch 2 dev meeting recently claims significant news about the highly-anticipated sequel could be dropping in February 2022.

A recent YouTube video appears to have gathered all of the cookie crumbs from the Blizzard dev trail to pinpoint that the release of Overwatch 2 is set to gain some significant traction next month.

In the video, Overwatch YouTuber WorstSombra starts by timelining how they arrived at that conclusion, complete with what appear to be realistic screenshots.

Last December, there were plenty of Tweets put out by Overwatch content creators that they had been invited to a special meeting with Blizzard and agreed not to share any insider details via a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

According to WorstSombra, however, what most didn't know is that there were actually more than a handful of these types of meetings planned from November until now, with Blizzard additionally already having already released an OW2 "pro demo package" on Battle.net.

Next, WorstSombra emphasizes how big streamers such as TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect started playing Overwatch out of nowhere earlier this month, as well as other content creators acting suspiciously on-air when asked about OW2.

Finally, WorstSombra's video reaches its climax as the YouTuber brings on someone to talk about OW2 despite them having allegedly signed an NDA.

At this point all bets are off, as the "surprise guest" has been given an edited voice as to not give away their apparent anonymity, so feel free to take this information with a grain of salt.

When asked about when the NDA information would be released to the community, the guest answered that although there won't be a BlizzConline event next month, as had already been announced in October, the OW2 news should be coming "around the third week" of February regardless.

The guest also went on to mention that the meeting was mostly focused on the upcoming game's content, specifically with stuff more catered to content creators rather than esports.

Ultimately, with Overwatch 2 remaining without an official release window, and the Overwatch League set to play on an "early build" of the game when its season starts up this April, it would certainly make sense to see things heat up on that front in the coming weeks.
