While some might see them as moving targets, a Tank's underappreciated ability to soak up the damage is vital to any competitive Overwatch match, and as such demands respect. Here's DBLTAP's tier list for March 2022. You can compare it to our February list.

Overwatch Tank Tier List: March 2022

S Tier

  • Reinhardt

Coming in at S tier to the surprise of nobody, Reinhardt's shield and hammer are a relief to any low-health teammate. A solid, dependable hero and is the literal definition of a tank.

A Tier

  • D. Va
  • Roadhog

Both D.Va and Roadhog defy the typical expectations of what a tank is, and that's what makes them great. D.Va is a highly mobile, close-quarters defender, capable of clearing vast distances in a short span of time. Roadhog on the other hand is a capable flanker, picking off enemies from a distance with his hook, and finishing them off one at a time. While they have their weaknesses and are dependent on player skill a lot of the time, there's no denying their game-changing potential.

B Tier

  • Wrecking Ball
  • Zarya

With Wrecking Ball being one of the most mobile characters in the game, surprisingly, and Zarya acting as a faster version of Reinhardt, the characters are quite niche, but can also open up new tactics and play styles. Wreckingball can swing around and literally roll right through an enemy's formation. Zarya, on the other hand, can soak up and deal massive damage depending on her particle shield, converting her into a DPS if any enemies are foolish enough to open fire at her without a plan.

C Tier

  • Sigma
  • Orisa

While both Sigma and Orisa have their uses, they're also very situational and lack the versatility and strength of the other tanks. Sigma's ability to control enemy movements is solid, but lacks enough damage output to be as useful as D.Va. Orissa has a quality projectile cannon, but can't soak up enough damage in comparison to Reinhardt or Zarya, and has a weak ultimate on top of that. While in some situations they can be utilized well, you'd be better off picking up other heroes most of the time.

D Tier

  • Winston

Easily the worst class in the tank category, if not the game, Winston lacks in every area. With a terrible weapon, little ability to soak up damage, and a predictable movement ability, Winston has little to no use in a match against seasoned players.
