Pokemon Sword and Shield tier list has slowly been made since the game's release on Nov. 12. With it comes a slew of casual gamers as well as the professionals. Pokemon is no stranger to intense battles between elites, and the pros are wondering how Sword and Shield Pokemon fit into the ranks.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Tier List

As usual with most generations of Pokemon, Dragon-Type Pokemon are extremely powerful and versatile and will lead the way for many teams.

First, we are going to build an all-around powerful team. These should be your end-game goals. You won't be able to start with this group, but you sure can end with it.

S-Rank Team

Dragapult - Has a great speed of 142, with an outstanding 120 Attack stat.
Hydreigon - Has a high Special Attack stat, with a 600 base stat.
Hippowdon - Has high defensive and HP stats, and can summon a sandstorm.
Snorlax - Has high Special Defense and HP. Has commendable Attack stat too.
Mimikyu - Has the ability to use one free attack.
Toxtricity - Great Special Attacker with a commendable Attack stat. Punk Rock ability increases the power of sound-based moves.

These Pokemon have high base stats, some being at 600. This is an all-around team, with both physical and special-move tanks.

The "A-Rank Team" is a bit more feasible earlier on. You'll still need to travel around the map to catch and find most of these Pokemon, but these pocket monsters are more more approachable than the "S-Rank Team."

A-Rank Team

Corviknight - Has high Defense and HP stats, has the abilities Pressure or Unnerve.
Coalossal - Defensive tank, has the abilities Steam Engine or Flame Body
Dubwool - Has high Defensive and Sp. Defensive stats. Has the ability Fluffy, where moves that make contact only deal half the damage (besides Fire-type moves).
Morpeko - With high speed, it can use Hunger Switch to change into Hangry Mode, raising it’s stats.

These are slightly above average Pokemon. They may be useful in competitive battles based on their abilities, but players should look more into S-tier Pokemon.

Now here is a larger tier list of Pokemon, allowing you to pick and choose your favorites.
