Pokemon UNITE Free Rotation: Week of Aug. 15-21

We've broken down the short list of Pokemon available for Free Rotation this week.

Like many MOBA genre games, Pokemon UNITE has a small selection of Pokemon that can be played for free for a certain length of time. Typically, there are four Pokemon to each rotation with the duration lasting about a week—just under seven days. This is called a "Free Rotation" and refreshes every Sunday.

Here are the Pokemon available for Free Rotation from Sunday, Aug. 15 to Saturday, Aug. 21.

Pokemon UNITE Free Rotation for Aug. 15-21

The Pokemon currently available to play as part of the Free Rotation this week are:

• Absol
• Greninja
• Machamp
• Mr. Mime

Absol is a melee speedster who specializes in melee physical attacks—meaning it benefits more from Attack items than Sp. Attack. Its highest ratings are Mobility and Offense. Speedsters like Absol are commonly used as "junglers" who patrol the middle area and switch between top and bottom lanes. Its passive, Super Luck, increases its critical hit chance permanently. Those who enjoy playing Absol can purchase it from the Aeos Emporium for 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems.

Greninja is a ranged attacker that specializes in physical attacks. So, like Absol, it also benefits more from Attack boosts than Sp. Attack. Its highest rating is Offense with Mobility and Scoring tied for second. Players may find it difficult to play Greninja successfully due to its passive, Torrent—making this Pokemon more effective when kept at a lower HP total. Players can purchase Greninja from the Aeos Emporium for 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems if they don't already own it.

Machamp is a melee all-rounder that specializes in physical attacks and benefits highly from Attack boost items rather than Sp. Attack. Its highest rating is in Offense with Mobility, Endurance, and Scoring all tied for second. Its superior ratings, alone, make it incredibly popular and easier to master. Its passive, Guts, increases its attack stat when Machamp is inflicted with a status condition—e.g.: being burned. Players can purchase Machamp from the Aeos Emporium for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.

Mr. Mime is a melee supporter and the only special attacker of the group. Its kit is tailored for crowd control than anything else with a powerful shove and AoE stun ultimate. However, like any crowd control choice, it can be difficult to master the amount of awareness and coordination necessary to perform well. Its highest rating is tied with Support and Endurance with Scoring and Offense tied for second. Mr. Mime can be purchased from the Aeos Emporium for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.
