Pokemon UNITE players have another combatant to look forward to, according to the official game social media channels.

Game Freak and Tencent unveiled Blissey as the mysterious third Pokemon teased late last month. The reveal came early on Monday, Aug. 16, showcasing the "Happiness" Pokemon and evolved form of Chansey offering "egg-cellent" support to its teammates. The announcement tweet describes the Pokemon's kit as having abilities meant to be an incredibly useful choice in any team composition.

Pokemon UNITE Blissey Details

Players will be able to play as Blissey on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Unsurprisingly, this Pokemon will take on the Supporter role, meant to help its teammates afloat during difficult combat. It will join Eldegoss, Mr. Mime, and Wigglytuff in this role. Though, we expect Blissey to have a kit closer to Eldegoss, given its general reputation.

Mr. Mime tends to be most focused on crowd control while Wigglytuff is something like a squishier Snorlax.

According to the announcement tweet, Blissey's kit will contain moves meant to buff the health and attack speed of its teammates. Its Unite Move ultimate, Bliss Assistance, will allow it to dash to a chosen or, perhaps, the most vulnerable ally and protect it. We can definitely see this move being a complete game-changer when coordinated with other ultimates like Charizard's.

An invulnerable flying dragon is nothing to sneeze at.

Blissey is a fairy-type and is commonly known for its role as a comforting/healing presence in times of strife. Veteran fans will likely associate it and its pre-evolved form, Chansey, with Nurse Joy. These Pokemon are often seen working as Nurse Joy's helpers and partners in the Pokemon Center.

The last Pokemon teased and set for release is Blastoise—who players are clearly hyped for if their responses on Twitter are any indication.
