Respawn Entertainment developer announced L-Star changes coming in the near future for Apex Legends through a Reddit thread.

L-Star has been with Apex Legends players for six seasons now. Although the gun is relatively strong early in the game, the ammo situation is just frustrating for most players.

The most prominent issue with L-Star is not about the gun itself, but the players who take advantage of the pre-existing ammo. The reputation for the gun has never been worse to the point that players started a petition to make buffs for the gun.

Apex Legends Confirms L-Star Changes

On Wednesday, a Reddit user started a thread titled 'The L-STAR should spawn with 20 ammo already in the gun,' and covered opinions on ammo for L-Star. @AmusedApricot, a developer for Apex Legends, responded with a long post explaining the situation within the gaming design team.

Most of the post explains why L-Star cannot go through simple changes such as setting ammo per person or per squad. According to @AmusedApricot in the Reddit thread, this is mainly because fixing one situation leads to other "minor conditional adjustments to meet tons of special cases," thus not being able to provide smooth gameplay with L-Stars.

L-Star's first trailer drew attention to players as the 'Gold Weapon,' but lost its reputation.

After explaining why, the developer hints that they have not forgotten about the gun. The team has "some other ideas" that they are working on. Other technical issues are closely related to this including gameplay adjustments and user interface design renewals, so immediate changes will probably not happen.

"We have some initial work done, but it wasn't ready for the next season's launch. We're working on it though!" are the last words of the developer. It is most likely that players will not hear updates about L-Star in the coming Season 9, but they can expect to hear news about it sometime in the near future.
