Tripwire Interactive's ex-CEO, John Gibson, has issued a public statement following his departure from the studio.

Gibson "stepped down" from his role in the company after tweeting public support regarding the inaction of the United States Supreme Court against a controversial Texas bill. The bill—now law—has been referred to as the "effective overturning" of a decades-long precedent protecting reproductive choice.

"As an entertainer I don’t get political often," he originally wrote in a tweet published Sept. 4, "Yet with so many vocal peers on the other side of this issue, I felt it was important to go on the record as a pro-life game developer."

Gibson's exit statement was posted on his same Twitter profile on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The full message was published as a screenshot within a single tweet.

"By now you have heard of my exit as CEO of Tripwire Interactive," he began, "For those upset about my exit, I encourage you to continue your support of Tripwire and their many amazing partners."

He explained that the remaining executive team had treated him "well with great care and dignity" and that they acted with "class" and "professionalism." Being the leader of the company was a great pleasure for Gibson and, in his absence, he was confident that the team will go on to accomplish great feats without him.

Additionally, he thanked the company's partners for "bringing [their] best to the table" and allowing the company to succeed. The aid these affiliated studios gave allowed Tripwire to go "further faster" than he thought they would be able to accomplish alone.

"We would not have been able to get off the ground without you," he wrote.

Gibson wished them all the best in the future and closed the statement with his electronic signature.

Tripwire Interactive has named co-founder Alan Wilson to the role of CEO in the meantime. DBLTAP still cannot confirm whether or not Shipwright Studios will be reinstating their contracts with the company following this action.
