Valorant is expected to have a new agent enter the fray, along with changes to some agent abilities in a future patch.

Valorant New Agent Tease: What We Know So Far

As posted in an official blog post by John Goscicki, character producer for Valorant, May's State of the Agents post named a few of the incoming updates for agents to either balance or buff their abilities. However, these patches will come in a later Patch 3.0, with no official date on when the game will be patched for it.

The new character is stated by Goscicki to have "some abilities that should feel familiar to folks who've played traditional FPS games their whole lives, but with added elements that will make those recognizable abilities unique within our roster." The new agent will be reliant on gunplay that is enabled by its ability.

Shortly after detailing the agent in progress, Goscicki left a cryptic message for a possible hint of what the abilities will be able to do. "Our hope is that the @*&#*&!(&H! #$ &*! *%# &@! *U&^A! “@*!!*(@@*&^” (@&* ^@!^& &@! *&# &^C#^ANG W*^@ $O )(E&# *N@! S!T#$," wrote the developer, saying that the keyboard "just stopped working there." This could hint at an ability that could shut down other player's abilities, as speculated by some in the community.

This news comes after the Valorant announced that it will not be releasing a patch 2.10, instead, it will skip straight to Patch 2.11, for a possible June 8 release. The skip between the patches was due to the team needing to update the game's engine in order to ensure that the game is smooth when the developers roll out the June patch.

Aside from the new agent tease, other agents already in the game are expected to have some major changes to their abilities. Breach and Skye will have both of their flashes nerfed in order to remove the ability for players to deal out three consecutive flashes. Breach in particular will also have some balances because of the flash, with Goscicki stating "we are looking to balance power across his kit, instead of it all sitting on his flash."

Yoru will also have a supposed buff to his "Fakeout" (C) to make it a more "impactful ability" in order to increase his power with his unique kit. Astra will also be having an update to her kit in order to provide more counterplay for other opposing players as Goscicki noted that some of her strategies are "too oppressive in coordinated play."
