Despite being over a decade old at this point, OG indie mega-hit Minecraft is still one of the most popular games today, periodically getting updates with new mobs, blocks and other content. Minecraft prides itself on simulating an entire ecosystem with flora, fauna and a foodchain for its mobs. Here's what Frogs eat in Minecraft.

Frogs were first added to Minecraft in the Bedrock Edition Beta 1.18.10.24, released in Dec. 2021, and Java Edition 1.19, released in March 2022. The updates introduced swamp biomes, which include Frogs as part of their ecosystem.

What do Frogs Eat in Minecraft?

Contrary to real-life, Frogs in Minecraft are not content with eating flies. According to the Minecraft Wiki, Frogs eat other small mobs, most notably Slimes and Magma Cubes. When a Frog eats a Slime, it drops a Slimeball, which can be used by players to lure pairs of Frogs and get them to breed.

Frogs also eat Magma Cubes in the Nether. Frogs that eat Magma Cubes receive a speed boost and also drop a Froglight block, which can be used by players as a powerful light source. A savvy player can set up farms of Frogs, Slimes and Magmacubes to continually produce these resources.
