What is a Good Refresh Rate for Apex Legends?

For the best gameplay in Apex Legends, your refresh rate should be at 144hz.

Players can still play the game if their refresh rate is lower, however gameplay may be "laggy". If you run into a problem with your refresh rate, it could be a number of problems.

To ensure smooth gameplay, first, make sure your PC can run at the minimum specs Apex Legends requires.

These are Apex Legends PC spec minimum requirements:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 3.8GHz / AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor
  • RAM: 6GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 / Radeon HD 7730
  • GPU RAM: 1 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: Minimum 22 GB of free space

These are Apex Legends PC spec recommended requirements:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7
  • CPU: Intel i5 3570K or equivalent
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290
  • GPU RAM: 8GB
  • HARD DRIVE: Minimum 22 GB of free space

If you're running into different problems with your refresh rate, you could adjust it by inputting a launch command. In the Origin app, go to your 'Game Library' and click on Apex Legends. Click on the settings and open 'Game Properties'. Then click on the Advanced Launch Options and enter "-freq 144" in the 'Command Line Arguments'

After these fixes for common problems, your refresh rate should be at 144hz.
