Epic Games returns from their company-wide vacation on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024. According to trusted Fortnite leaker, ShiinaBR, all Epic Games employees were given over two weeks off for the holiday.
As a result, many of Epic Games biggest titles, including Fortnite, have not received any blockbuster updates to kick off the new year. Fans might be getting restless waiting for v28.10 to drop in the Battle Royale, but after such a hectic, successful year, the Epic Games staff has more than earned their time off. After all, they gave the community everything they have been asking for with the return of the OG map and the launch of LEGO Fortnite.
Once Epic Games' winter break concludes, fans can expect Fortnite to return to its typical schedule, with at least two significant updates per month.

Although Epic Games has not confirmed what is coming in the next update, we do know that Solid Snake, the "secret" Battle Pass skin, will finally release. Players will be able to get the Metal Gear character in Fortnite almost two months after the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass dropped.
