UPDATE (Jan. 17, 2:43 p.m. ET): Activision announced at 2:40 p.m. ET on Wednesday that Ranked Play will be delayed while they investigate a recently discovered critical issue.
An unexpected delay has fans wondering exactly when MW3 Ranked Play is coming out now.
After three months, Ranked Play is finally arriving in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded. The playlist gives fans the opportunity to progress through eight Skill Divisions, from Bronze to Top 250, as they play Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Control under the CDL ruleset. With bragging rights, free rewards, and flaming streaks on the line, MW3 Ranked Play is set to be the most competitive mode in the game.
Unfortunately, it looks like fans will have to wait a bit longer before they can begin their climb to the Top 250 Leaderboard.
MW3 Ranked Play Delayed
The developers revealed last night that MW3 Ranked Play is delayed. The competitive playlist will no longer go live alongside MW3 Season 1 Reloaded at 12 p.m. ET.
The announcement stated, "Heads up competitors, MWIII Ranked Play will not be available immediately after players receive the S1 Reloaded update. The Ranked Play team will be performing checks before enabling the mode for all players. Stay tuned for more updates."
Now, those who load into the midseason update as soon as it goes live will have to kill some time in pubs or even venture onto Call of Duty: Warzone as they wait for Ranked Play.
When is MW3 Ranked Play Coming Out Now? Answered
After a slight delay, MW3 Ranked Play is likely still coming out today, Jan. 17, 2024. Based on the update patterns of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, players typically only have to wait an extra 2-3 hours for the new mode to drop. If all goes smoothly, we should expect MW3 Ranked Play to launch around 3 p.m. ET.
Of course, there could always be unforeseen issues with stability and the servers that delay Ranked Play even further. Make sure to follow the official CODUpdates account on X to know exactly when Ranked Play goes live.
