The Cube Assassin is no pushover NPC. Here's where to find her in Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 8 is well underway. As part of the new threats players will encounter in the new season, a certain NPC has been thrown into the mix and she's not friendly. The Cube Assassin is a Sideways NPC which players can attempt to take on in the hopes of earning some decent rewards.

Keep in mind that she's a boss, so defeating her will prove to be quite the challenge. Make sure you're prepared. Of course, the first thing you're going to need to do is find her. Here's what you need to know.

Where to Find the Cube Assassin in Fortnite

The Cube Assassin can be found in the Sideways Anomalies. These rifts spawn at random locations around the map, so their spots will likely change each match. Be sure to check your in-game map to see where they've spawned.

These Sideways Encounters can be challenging, so make sure you've stocked up on everything you need before going in. Players will have to fight through a wave of Cube Monsters before a Boss potentially spawns. The Cube Assassin isn't guaranteed to spawn in the first anomaly you find, so you might have to try a few before she makes an appearance.

How to Defeat the Cube Assassin in Fortnite

The fight will begin with a wave of Cube Monsters, involving the standard zombie types, projectile throwers, and poison gas cloud erupters. Roughly 20 seconds or so into the fight, the Cube Assassin will hopefully spawn towrds the center of the rift. As mentioned, this isn't guaranteed so you might need to try again elsewhere.

The Cube Assassin is armed with a Sideways Minigun, which increases in damage the more it's fired. She will also periodically raise a shield wall in front of herself, which will block all front facing damage. During this phase, her back is vulnerable so the trick is to quickly get behind her to deal your damage.

Like most bosses, the Cube Assassin will have a shield bar and a health bar so it might take a few bouts of attacks to defeat her if you're doing this solo. These encounters are naturally easier with friends, so getting a squad together will increase your chances of success.

Once defeated, the Sideways zone will disappear, and she'll turn into a ghost NPC for you to purchase Cube Monster parts from.
