Will Madden NFL 23 be free on EA Play?

With Madden 23 finally set to launch this week, it's perhaps no surprise that EA Play subscribers want to know if they will be available to access the game for free using the service. Here's the breakdown of whether or not Madden 23 is free to play for EA Play members.

Is Madden 23 Free on EA Play?

Unfortunately, it does not appear that Madden 23 will be available to play for free on EA Play at launch.

At the time of publication, Madden 23 is offering those with EA Play, which is included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a 10-hour Early Access Trial of the game, as well as 10% off their pre-orders, Madden Ultimate Team Packs and more.

That's not to say Madden 23 won't ever enter the EA Play Play List, however. As seen with Madden 22, which was released on Aug. 17, 2021, the game was ultimately made available to all EA Play members for free Feb. 17, 2022.

As such, most can bet that EA will follow a similar system this year as well.

For those who are EA Play Pro members, full access to the Madden NFL 23 EA Play Pro Edition opened up on Aug. 16.

Madden NFL 23 is set to release worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via EA app, Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store) Aug. 19, 2022.
