Yone will be League of Legends' next champion, according to a series of leaks that have appeared online over the last few weeks. In a champion roadmap in June, Riot Games revealed the next two champions would come in rapid succession during a mid-summer event. Although Lillia has been revealed as the next champion, it seems very likely that Yone will follow close behind her.

In the champion roadmap, Riot Games suggested that the next champion will be a "masked assassin who refuses to die." Although many signs point to Yone being the masked assassin, the strongest clue is a voice line that was datamined from the Spirit Blossom Thresh skin. This line addresses Yone by name and makes references to his lore. Fans have found additional leaked artwork that seems to fit the description of the masked assassin. There aren't any reliable leaks regarding Yone's abilities or what he will be able to do in game.

In the lore, Yone is Yasuo's older brother who hunted Yasuo after he was accused of murdering their master. After a violent confrontation, Yasuo killed Yone and continued to live in exile. This fits with the description of a champion that "refuses to die," and it would make sense that Yone has found some way to avoid death in order to get his revenge. In the leaked splash art, Yone seems to have some sort of Darkin influence which could explain how he evaded death.

Riot Games has not confirmed any of the leaks associated with Yone.

Yone League of Legends Release Date

With the arrival of the Spirit Blossom event, Riot released a timeline teasing four events. The first event on this timeline was the reveal of Lillia, and Riot Games plans to release her July 22 — the third date on the list. The other two remain mysterious beyond their dates, which are July 15 and 24. It's plausible that Yone could be revealed July 15 and released July 24, but Riot Games has announced no such plans. As a result, Yone's precise release date is unknown.
