Honkai: Star Rail – Tingyun build and ascension guide

Check out the best Light Cones and Relics for Tingyun in HSR.
HoYoverse

Bring out the strongest performances from your allies with the best Honkai: Star Rail Tingyun build. This silver-tongued Foxian girl follows the Path of The Harmony and dishes out Lightning DMG, though her main strength is to buff up other members of her party.

Tingyun’s Skill, Soothing Melody, grants one ally the Benediction effect for three turns, raising their ATK based on Tingyun’s ATK. Allies affected by Benediction add Lightning DMG based on their own ATK to their next offensive move. When Tingyun attacks a target, she deals extra Lightning DMG based on the ATK of the character currently affected by Benediction.

Her Ultimate, Amidst the Rejoicing Clouds, restores Energy to one targeted ally and increases their overall damage for two turns.

Tingyun’s Eidolon levels, which are gained after pulling duplicates of her, add even more value to her kit. Level 1 provides a SPD boost to the ally with Benediction for one turn after Tingyun uses her Ultimate, while Level 2 restores Energy to the ally with Benediction after they defeat enemies. Level 4 bolsters the damage multiplier provided by Benediction and Level 6 increases the amount of Energy restored by Tingyun’s Ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail – Tingyun: best Light Cones

Tingyun mainly needs two stats to fulfill her duties, these being ATK and Energy Regeneration. Flowing Nightglow, the signature Light Cone of Robin, provides both. It comes with the highest base ATK of all The Harmony Light Cones and provides its wearer with Energy Regeneration, which increases every time an ally makes an attack (stacking up to five times). This effect is reset whenever the wearer uses their Ultimate, which increases their ATK and provides a teamwide damage boost for one turn.

Best Light Cones for Tingyun in HSR:

  • Flowing Nightglow (5-Star)
  • A Grounded Ascent (5-Star)
  • Earthly Escapade (5-Star)
  • But the Battle Isn’t Over (5-Star)
  • Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds (4-Star)

Honkai: Star Rail – Tingyun: best Relics

In addition to the already mentioned ATK and Energy Regeneration Tingyun will want a good amount of SPD to bestow her buffs on allies as early as possible. Pad out the rest of her slots with defensive stats to keep her alive — Tingyun is notorious for being an attractive target.

Honkai: Star Rail – Tingyun: best teams

Tingyun remains a wonderful addition to many team comps, especially when it comes to those focusing on a single powerful Main DPS.

  • Seele (Main DPS), Bronya (Support), Tingyun (Support), Huohuo (Healer)

Take this as an exemplary team — Tingyun is a fantastic secondary Support for pretty much any Main DPS that can be played as a sole hypercarry. In this composition archetype, she shares all burdens with another Support – usually Bronya, Sparkle, or Sunday – and focuses on restoring Energy to the Main DPS as well as keeping her buff active on them. The other Support comes into play with additional buffs and either turn manipulation or Skill Point restoration, whatever the Main DPS in question needs. Huohuo is an all-around great healer with some supportive skills, making her an excellent addition to round out the line-up.

Characters such as Seele, Jingliu, Imbibitor Lunae, Blade, Yanqing, and Aglaea are perfect fits for a team like this.

Honkai: Star Rail – Tingyun: ascension materials

Here’s everything you need to know to get Tingyun ascended to the maximum level and upgrade all of her talents.

Tingyun requires the following ascension materials to get to level 80 in addition to the necessary XP:

  • Credits x246,000
  • Immortal Scionette x12
  • Immortal Aeroblossom x13
  • Immortal Lumintwig x12
  • Lightning Crown of the Past Shadow x50

You can collect Immortal Scionettes, Immortal Aeroblossoms, and Immortal Lumintwigs from Mara-Struck Soldiers and other enemies in Cloudford and Stargazer Navalia as well as the Simulated Universe. You can create or exchange them through the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express, too. Immortal Scionettes are one of the materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a steady income of the material.

Lightning Crown of the Past Shadow is dropped from the Stagnant Shadow (Corridor of Fading Echoes) or gained through exchange. The best source of Credits are the Golden Calyxes that can be found on many worlds.

Tingyun requires the following materials to upgrade her combat abilities and Traces:

  • Credits x2,400,000
  • Immortal Scionette x28
  • Immortal Aeroblossom x42
  • Immortal Lumintwig x42
  • Harmonic Tune x12
  • Ancestral Hymn x54
  • Stellaris Symphony x105
  • Destroyer’s Final Road x12
  • Tracks of Destiny x5

For the materials already mentioned, check above. Harmonic Tune, Ancestral Hymn, and Stellaris Symphony can be farmed in the Crimson Calyx (Robot Settlement) in Belobog’s Underworld. As usual, you can create the high-level materials by using up lower-level materials in the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express.

Destroyer’s Final Road is rarer material only gained from the Echo of War (Supply Zone) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.
