Borderlands 4 release date for Nintendo Switch 2 announced
By Marco Wutz

Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced that Borderlands 4 will be released on October 3, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2. That’s not even a month after the game’s launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, which is planned to happen on September 12, 2025.
Borderlands 4’s launch was previously pushed forward on the other platforms due to the speedy development process and it looks like the Switch 2 version is coming along well, too.
Players will once again step into the shoes of a Vault Hunter to seek ever better loot — and they will need it, because a planetary disaster is threatening the world of Kairos and the Timekeeper, its ruthless dictator, is also in need of a good beating.
The title supports solo as well as co-op gameplay with up to four players online. A splitscreen mode is available for two players on the same device.
Randy Pitchford already revealed Borderlands 4’s open-world map and collectibles, so players can already get a good idea of the game’s scale and terrain.
