Embark Studios has a ten-year plan for ARC Raiders
By Marco Wutz

ARC Raiders is poised to be one of the biggest games of October following a successful server slam event with strong concurrent user numbers across the board — and that’s not a mean feat following the phenomenal launch of Battlefield 6 earlier this month, which sold over seven million copies in just three days, soaking up the time and attention of many shooter fans worldwide.
Developer Embark Studios certainly has the necessary ambition to match the high expectations, as they’ve revealed during a recent livestream from TwitchCon. Asked what players can expect when it comes to post-launch content, the game’s design director explained that the studio internally referred to it “as a ten-year game.”
“That is the ambition we’re aiming for and that dictates the type and quantity of content that we want to put into it,” he added.
At the same time, the developer didn’t want to detail any content roadmap for the moment so as to not cause any misunderstandings: “That stuff can quickly spiral into promises that can go unfulfilled if things change.”
Embark wants to attract a large and loyal audience to its extraction shooter by foregoing the mandatory periodic progress wipes that have become the standard in the genre, instead opting for an experimental system with voluntary wipes. The success of this experiment will likely be a major factor in the developers’ ability to make their ten-year plan a reality.
ARC Raiders is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 30, 2025.
