Every announcement in the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play

Wolverine and SAROS headline a fairly quiet State of Play
Sony

It’s Tokyo Game Show season, and that means a bunch of presentations and announcements are happening throughout the week. We’ve already seen announcement streams from both Capcom and Kojima Productions, and Sony decided to join the fray with a State of Play stream, too. It was packed with over a dozen announcements, some of which were quite interesting, but it was a fairly quiet affair overall.

Nevertheless, we’ve put together this roundup of everything announced in the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play, including trailers for everything announced during the presentation, which you can watch in full below if you’d rather get it straight from the source.

First Saros gameplay trailer and release date

Housemarque’s new game, Saros, got a new trailer showing off our first look at the gameplay following its announcement back in February. What we’ve seen so far looked fairly slick, but there wasn’t much to the trailer. Saros will be released on PS5 on March 20, 2026.

Zero Parades trailer

Zero Parades, the next game from whatever ZA/UM is these days, got a new trailer. It looks like Disco Elysium, but very few, if any, of the people who worked on that are working on this. It’s due out in 2026, and is no doubt coming to a bunch of other platforms too.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coming to PS5

Microsoft’s slow transition into a third-party developer continues with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which is coming to PS5 on December 8, 2025. As a fun note, this is also the only newly-announced PSVR2 game in the State of Play, which tells you just about everything you need to know about the state of PSVR2 in 2025.

Battlefield 6 single-player trailer

Did you know Battlefield 6 will have a single-player campaign in addition to the multiplayer? I didn’t, which is why I wrote in my notes “Call of Duty??” before Battlefield popped up on the screen. In any case, it’s filled with a bunch of military folks swearing and looking serious, and the gameplay, as expected, looks quite good. As a reminder, Battlefield 6 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 10, 2025.

Deus Ex Remastered announcement

It’s a remaster of the classic stealth game Deus Ex, and despite some fairly drastic changes to the game’s art style, it looks alright. Aspyr, the developer who did the recent Tomb Raider classic remasters, is leading the charge on this one, so it should be pretty good when it launches on February 5, 2025.

Halloween: The Game release date

Halloween: The Game, from developer IllFonic which also made a very similar Friday the 13th game, now has a release date: September 8, 2026. That’s quite far off, so you have plenty of time to recover from whatever asymmetrical multiplayer horror game fatigue you might be feeling ahead of its release.

Last Epoch coming to PS5

The Diablo-like loot-based hack and slash RPG Last Epoch, which has been seeing some quiet success since its launch on PC in February last year, is coming to PS5. There’s no release date for it yet, but it’s launching whenever the newly announced Orobyss expansion comes out.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin release date

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, based on the anime of the same name, finally has a firm release date of January 28, 2026. That’s just barely missing the 2025 release window previously announced, but it’s close enough that we’ll give it a pass. It looks alright.

Mega Man is coming to Sonic Racing Crossworlds

Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Sega’s latest Sonic Racing endeavour which is out now, is getting Mega Man DLC at some point, presumably next year. It comes with a playable Mega Man and Proto Man, a cute Rush car, and a Mega Man-themed track, joining the extended cast of Hatsune Miku, Pac-Man, Spongebob Squarepants, and Minecraft Steve, who are all also getting DLC for the game.

Nioh 3 release date

Nioh 3 has a release date now, and definitely didn’t leak several hours ago when a Japanese retailer put up listings for the game way too early. It’s coming out on February 6, 2026, and it looked very much like a new Nioh game in its trailer.

Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered announcement

Dynasty Warriors 3 – the best game in the Dynasty Warriors series because it was the first one I ever played – is getting a gorgeous remaster. There’s almost no mistaking it for its PS2 origins, as it’s been completely overhauled, and I can’t wait to play it on March 19, 2026.

Code Vein 2 release date

If Nioh 3 wasn’t enough soulslike action for you, Code Vein 2 was also featured during the presentation. The trailer opened on a very buxom anime woman, just to make sure you were paying attention when Bandai Namco announced the release date of January 20, 2026.

Let It Die: Inferno announcement

There’s a new game in the Let It Die series, following up the original and the battle royale game Deathverse that followed it. It’s a “roguelite survival action [game] in a chaotic PvEvP environment,” apparently, and it’s due out on December 3, 2025.

Chronoscript: The Endless End announcement

Shueisha Games and Deskworks announced a new game, Chronoscript: The Endless End, which features a delightful hand-drawn bookish art style. The gameplay shown in the trailer seems to suggest it’s a metroidvania (the PS Blog calls it an “exploration-based 2D action-adventure game”) and it’s coming in 2026.

Crimson Desert release date

Crimson Desert got delayed earlier this year, but we finally have a release date for it: March 19, 2026. It still looks like Crimson Desert, the open world RPG that I feel we’ve been hearing about for a decade at this point. Still, it looks good, and it’s likely to be massive, so definitely one worth keeping an eye on.

Pulse Elevate wireless speakers announcement

Sony is making new PlayStation speakers called the Pulse Elevate, and they look like a weird alternate-universe take on a conical PS5. They’re compatible with PS5, PC, and Mac with the use of a dongle, and if you have a PS Portal it’ll stream to them without the dongle. Why you’d want speakers with a handheld device is anyone’s guess, but they are portable at least, with a battery inside. They also feature bluetooth connectivity, and you can have a dongle device and a bluetooth device connected and playing at the same time. There’s no pricing announced yet – though you should expect them to be pricey – and they’re due out in 2026.

Gran Turismo series sells 100 million units, and GT7 is getting a new update

Sony revealed that its premier racing series, Gran Turismo, has sold over 100 million units as of June 2025, which is pretty impressive for a racing game series. It’s also getting a new Spec III update, with a bunch of new cars and tracks as you’d expect, in December.

God of War 20th Anniversary Dualsense controller announcement

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of God of War, Sony is not releasing a new game or a collection of remastered old games, but is instead releasing a special edition Dualsense controller. It’s entirely white with the exception of a red stripe down the right side of the controller, much like the one on Kratos’ face, and it’ll cost $84.99 when preorders open on October 3, 2025. It won’t ship until October 23, though.

Marvel’s Wolverine trailer

Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games got a new trailer and a release window, which we’ve covered in-depth in the story below:
