Total War: Warhammer 3 fans think that Neferata is coming and will be voiced by a BG3 VA

Yesterday’s announcement about the delay of Tides of Torment, the next DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, probably went over much better with the community than Creative Assembly could have hoped. Not only are fans accepting of the fact that more time means more quality, the included teases of future content have also done their part in diverting people’s attention.

In its statement, CA said it was exploring ways to do smaller DLCs in order to bring popular Warhammer characters into the game outside of its usual expansion framework.

“We’re working out how these would fit with our schedules, but we have a good idea for who the first one could be, and she’s someone near and dear to your blood,” CA wrote. Naturally, fans jumped on this statement and immediately found a strong candidate to whom it may refer — the Queen of Lamia, Neferata. She’s one of the most powerful vampires in the setting and has some fantastic lore behind her, but she’s not made it into the game so far despite her popularity.

It’s not just her fame and the blood reference that’s making fans think Neferata is on her way, though.

Back in April 2025, voice actress Emma Gregory – known for playing Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3 – posted about recording lines for CA. While this work might have been related to Dechala, a Slaanesh Daemon coming as part of Tides of Torment, Gregory has some past credits that are making her especially predisposed to playing Neferata: She is the narrator of the audio version of the novel Neferata: The Dominion of Bones.

Of course, this would suggest that the production process of this potential DLC is advanced much further than CA is suggesting. However, it’s worth noting that we know that the studio is recording voice lines way before characters are announced — the game’s IMDB page currently lists some cast members for units and characters that have not been confirmed yet, such as Tigermen and Taoyan the Merciless.

In conclusion, Neferata coming to Total War: Warhammer 3 and being voiced by Emma Gregory is still very much speculation, but it’s certainly not baseless. We are likely going to get concrete information during the Total War 25th anniversary showcase later this year.
