In NBA 2K22, the Pro Stick dribbling controls have been overhauled once again, making an emphasis on putting more control in the user's hands to come up with signature sequences of their own.
As such, one of the common questions newer players are experiencing with the title is how to perform a Signature Standing Size-Up. Although the option in the Animations screen shows the player model going to town with a myriad of standing crosses, tweens and behind the backs, it seems there's no way to activate them in game. For those wondering how to pull off these dribble moves, here's a breakdown on how to do a Signature Size-Up in NBA 2K22 on Current Gen and Next Gen, as confirmed by 2K Gameplay Director Mike "Beluba" Wang on Reddit.
2K Gameplay Director Explains How to Do a Signature Size-Up in NBA 2K22
The first thing to note when attempting to do a Signature Size-Up in NBA 2K22 is that it is not a Signature Combo. Something that many players often mistake a Signature Standing Size-Up for is a Signature Standing Size-Up Combo, which is activated by simply tapping L2/LT or holding Turbo and flicking the Pro Stick up.
As straightforward as it might sound, to do a Signature Standing Size-Up in NBA 2K22, players simply need to flick the Pro Stick in a rhythm — without Turbo — up, left, right, diagonally down-left or diagonally down-right.
This is because your equipped Signature Size-Up package changes what crosses, tweens and behind the backs your MyPlayer does while standing still. For instance, the standing behind the back animation for the Penny Hardaway and Zach LaVine Signature Size-Up packages are drastically different.
After labbing for a bit the Pro-Am court, I've found two sequences that dramatically change and play on their own depending on the Signature Size-Up package you have equipped:
- Flick the Pro Stick to the hand opposite of your ball hand (left or right) and keep flicking in the same direction
- Flick the Pro Stick to the hand opposite of your ball hand left and right back and forth continuously
