Apex Legends 30-30 Repeater: New Weapon for Season 8 Revealed
By Brian Gilmartin
Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem, is fast approaching, and with it comes a brand new weapon. It's been confirmed that the 30-30 Repeater, a lever-action rifle, is much unlike any weapon before. If you're familiar with Red Dead Redemption, it's similar to the Winchester Repeater in RDR1, and the Lancaster Repeater in RDR2. Obviously, we should expect much more considering it's Apex Legends and not the wild west.
This fits the trend we had prior to this season, where we had new guns being added in each Season just as we did new Legends. However, there was still gun controversy for what guns were available for ground loot and which guns deserve buffs. However, despite our brief period without a new gun, players have been excited for another new addition since we haven't been able to look forward to a new weapon in some time.
We saw the weapon in some dev streams as ground loot before, but we haven't seen the full capabilities behind it. The 30-30 Repeater is also tied to the lore of the new Legend, Fuse. The gun is described as "Salvo's most popular weapon." Fuse himself is the only Legend to fight in the Apex Legends games according to Fuse's trailer.
There is no confirmation on what type of ammo the gun uses, however, the gun is also described as a lever-action rifle that "picks apart the oppositions with hard-hitting rounds." The "hard-hitting rounds" suggests that it's probably in the heavy ammo category. However, don't be surprised if you need to use sniper ammo as well.
As for attachments for this weapon, our guess is probably as good as yours. However, I'd expect to be able to add long-range scopes for the weapon because a repeater such as this is good for medium-long range fights. The damage the gun delivers also appears to be on the higher side as well. However, with what we assume the fire rate to be, it could be a gun that you have to have great accuracy with, because missing multiple shots will be costly.
The weapon should have over 16 common/ rare skins, five Epic skins, and three Legendary skins that you can get for it. Similar to any other weapon you use in Apex Legends. We'll see how it performs when Season 8 starts.
