Players are able to swim in Dying Light 2 and can use it to their advantage throughout the game. Most zombies in the game will die when entering deep waters, making it a great way to escape large hoards. However, there are a few downsides to swimming in Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2, the sequel to 2016's Dying Light, was released on Feb. 4 continuing the game series. The game takes place 15 years after the first and follows a new protagonist, Aiden Caldwell. The post-apocalyptic world continues to be full of zombies and few survivors that have split into divisions.

In search of his sister, Mia, Aiden must travel around the zombie-infested city of Villedor and survive the attacks of mutated monsters and hostile survivors.

Even though players are able to swim in Dying Light 2, there are limitations to what they can do. In the first game, swimming too deep in the water could kill the player. Luckily, Dying Light lets players dive underwater with an oxygen limitation.

Players can only stay in the water as long as their character doesn't run out of oxygen, players can dive underwater and swim to different locations. There are also different supplements that can be found throughout the game which can make the character swim faster or stay underwater longer.

Along with the oxygen limitation, there is a zombie that lives in the water. The Drowner will ambush players underwater if they are too close to their pool. However, players may never encounter a Drowner depending on the decisions they choose in the game.
